The application, submitted by Beyonce’s company, BGK Trademark Holdings, is currently pending but is expected to be approved, according to the Washington Post. Experts have mixed reaction on the move. “I gave unique names to my kids - Raell, Quasar and Shazahn, and was thinking of copyrighting them. That was because I found that a lot of people were impersonating my name, Alyque, which is also unique. Although, you can’t deny that with the pressure they have, they need to fiercely protect their kid,” says adman, Prahlad Kakkar. Back home, we also have celebrities who have given their kids unique names, and might want to go the Beyonce way.
